As indicated in our previous Arkokabay news brief, the PFDJ is busy these days holding seminars and mobilising Eritreans using every skill and tactic the organisation possess to lure Eritreans to a rally planned for 15th February 2010. This rally is being called to protest against the UN Security Council Resolution 1907, which imposed on the ruling PFDJ regime sanctions affecting the movement of PFDJ officials, freezing assets and arms embargo.

In a well attended meeting organised by the Eritrean embassy in the UK, held in London on 17th January 2010, questions of human rights, introduction of Democratic system of governance and an end to the indefinite incarceration of young Eritreans in military trenches were loudly raised. The PFDJ officials kept assuring the attendees that they will respond to their demands positively, and that those kept in the army beyond the official terms of 18 months will be compensated. However, many observers consider these pledges as nothing but the same old PFDJ deceptive tactics that people no longer entertain.

ITS OUR MOTHER WE SAID OK .SHE GET TREATMENT IN SEMBLHOSBITAL FOR 6 DAYS THEN THEY ASKED US ABOUT 3000 NKF ITS THE TIME I SAW MY BI BROTHER CRYIN COS WE DONT HAVE THIS MUCH MONEY .SO WE WENT TO ASK FOR HELP ALMOST NOTHING WE WENT TO THE ADMISNTRATION AND THEY SAID WHO TOLD U TO TAKE UR MOTHER TO SEMBEL ANY WAY WE SOLD WHAT WE HAD IN OUR HOUSE AN WE SAVE OUR MOTHER.OUR HOUSE IS EMBITY ONLY MY MOTHER IS THERE AND WE HAE TO LEAVE TO OUR PLACE COS WE FINISHE THE TIME IVEN MOTHER SHE DOENT HAVE MONEY THAT WE CAN LEAVE OR HERE.AND IT WAS THE TIME OF ROUND UP(GIFFA) BOTH OF US CAUGHT AND WENT TO OUR CAMP PRESON THERE E HEAR THE DIED OF MY MOTHER.
